Exclusion of lady captain from main committee

Blimey - have you been to many committee meetings

Would be a full blown novel if everything was written down

The only things not in our minutes (available to members to read) is matters of discipline or items considered to be financially sensitive but will normally get a superficial mention e.g one member was subject to a discipline review without saying who they were or what they did/did not do.

When I was in control of one of the sub committees I was also required to have minutes which were included in the club's minutes. Naturally they were not a full transcript.

There is no need for a full transcript

For us it’s the key items , any decisions and discussions that will be relevant

We have separate Men’s and Ladies Sections and Captains (and Vice Captains), and separate Men’s and Ladies Committees and AGMs. We do not have a ‘main’ committee - we have a board with a chairperson to run the company that is our members club.

The Ladies Captain (or delegate) may attend any Men’s Committee meeting (no voting rights) - though not is seems the other way round. Either Captain may attend club Board Meetings (neither having voting rights at board meetings). We do not have an overall club captain - on cross-membership matters (not sitting within the remit of the Board) our captains work in tandem and with equality.

The club ‘figurehead’ is our President. An elected position of not more than three years duration…elected by members at the Men’s and Ladies AGMs combined. It is never contested.
