Ever played with ppl you never met?

Surely you must meet them before you tee off. I have no problems playing with someone I haven't met before, as I know they haven't heard my tall stories before. With my lack of memory I do seem to be repeating myself more and more.:(

Don't want to play too well play off 27 only thing going around the clubhouse would be bandit lol.
Hopefully mark will put me with a group who dont mind an extra player and all shall be well

Well yes your right but before that i didnt know them. I only ever played with my mates or family. Only played for 18montha

I'm new to my club. So I do it all the time. Good fun nowt to worry about either. Even at the Muni I sometimes played at I went on my own. But never finished around alone. Just do it.

You are guaranteed to have something in common with them, you play golf. I can remember a lot of the first few people I played with when I joined my club, and quite a few of them are now good friends. I would also add that normally people find me a right pain in the rear.

Most people are naturally fine judges of character, and first opinions are seldom wrong.

A few weeks ago I was invited, by a friend, to play with him an 2 of his mates.

Never met them before. My friend plays of 13, his friends play off 2 and 6.

Played match play and had an absolute belting laugh. Great banter and humor all 18 holes. Fantastic day.

Do it! Everytime I rock up to play with people I've never met, it scares the pants off me. But .... they've always turned out to be really good company, and I've had a great time.

Yeah go for it. I only joined my club back in August and didn't know any of the members. Now I have played nearly every Sunday morning in the comps and quite often with different guys. Never had a problem, and even if you do play well off of 27 don't worry about bandit comments, it's all in good jest. I am udner the bandit moniker at the moment as playing off of 24 have won the last 2 comps with a 39 pointer and a net 66 in the medal.

No-one thinks any worse of you and everyone has to start somewhere.

lots and definately do it, most of the time you will meet great people only the very occasional unsocialable guy but its not worth missing a game for

Connor, with 200+ posts your feet are firmly under the table.... stick a post in the 'arrange a game' section and see if anyone wants to meet up for a knock.

seems that the general consensus is to go for it... i'd concur, of all the randoms i've ever played golf with (80+?) only 1 sticks out as having been a bit of a helmet. some of the others are now amongst those i consider very good friends...
