Does the BBC get it?

I'm not complaining about the live coverage, but a run up programme at a reasonable hour as Sky do for their major coverage would be nice. Some people dont have the benefit of Sky and the Open is the only golf they get to see, dont you think those licence payers deserve a run up programme at a more reasonable hour?.

so all this just cause the preview is a bit late for you, wowsers lets hope no one does anything to annoy you today like look at you or speak to loudly in your presence.

No thats not the point, the point is the BBC's service goes from bad to dire and for what reason??
Example; without firing up my PC and having the TV on this morning I thought I would check the live scores for The Open on the red button as the BBC have had the live scoring facility from first tee off for years.Low and behold theres no Open live scoring on the red button?? We get less and less from the BBC's service nowdays.....

At home today and tomorrow - looking forward to the BBC coverage - off to England to photograph football on Saturday and playing the mixed open at Edzell on Sunday morning - so my weekend viewing will just be the leaders

They only get a decent review on sky because golf is mainly on Sky Sports 4. If they only had say 2 sports channels I doubt you'd a prime time review show. Golf isn't as popular to the nation as you may think (I'd guess) which is why they put it on later.

I personally think they coverage they give is excellent, the review was decent too.

I'm watching the coverage now and am enjoying it but I find elements of the coverage rather irritating. For example, I want to watch the worlds best players hitting their best shots and whilst there is plenty of this on show, there is also overkill on just showing putts for birdie rather than how they got there. More infuriating though is the cut scenes away from the golf to listen to what Dan Walker thinks about the course or Tigers chances.

This is pointless - I really don't care what any of the presenters think. Leave the discussion to the commentators please.

Can't watch it on the telly today but the coverage on BBC Radio 5Live is excellent thus far. Something weirdly exciting about listening to golf on the radio and hearing it rather than seeing it.

I like Sky but isn't it great not having ad breaks in between every other shot and it allows them to show more of the other players and not just Tiger which will keep the bashers happy

Fantastic. The worlds best are hitting shots live but forget that, let's switch to Dans interview with a local qualifier instead.

Tiger bias is getting on my nerves too.

Think I will get out in the sunshine instead.

WOW some people really are hard to please, and to think you could have been born into a 3rd world country and may never of heard of the game of golf
