Do you know your Club Manager/Secretary and would it make a difference if.......

As with any (successful) business, those in charge should be seen... ask Branson.

Don't see why anyone who helps their club can't be paid... even if it's sherbert money and free green fees.

Ours came up through the greenkeeping staff - so knows the course inside out & exactly what needs doing to keep it in good nick. Good organiser too. See him quite a bit and often chat. Good bloke who knows what he's doing.

Our manager is a really nice guy, met him a few times.
But... He's an employee of the club, and as such is only contracted to work Mon. To Fri. 9 to 5.

He is a member of another club and plays his golf there.

Our Pro is the 'Director of Golf' and does a great job, is always around, and is always in the bar sharing a beer or 2 with the members, top bloke.
That said, 20 years ago it was different, then - the Secretary was an absolute arse, most ignorant/arrogant git you could imagine.

I personally think we should see him for some of the weekend. I think it wouldn't be too unreasonable to asking him to work Tue to Sat or have a half day Saturday morning in Monday morning off?
