Slime, Donnington Valley is absolute rubbish. The hotel is OK but pretty dated although a nice spa and pool. The Oxfordshire is a decent course and you can mix it up playing from different tees but it's a long track. The hotel is huge and souless IMO.

Old Thorns would get my vote or Bowood.

Just returned from a two night three round break at Sandford Springs and will probably book again for next year - our group really liked it, course in great condition, rooms comfortable and in almost as new condition, staff very attentive with nothing too much trouble.

Second this , 2 nice courses. Decent hotel , nice swimming pool
Are you talking about the courses? ;) Seriously though, in August or early September you shouldn't have to worry about a wet course, but the rains down have been utterly biblical recently and ESN doesn't drain well. My course is a mess right now and every time it looks like it is ready to turn a corner, the rains come again :cautious:
