What does it mean?

I am consistently shooting similar scores, so I'm getting better and more consistent at golf? Really?

My last 4 medals have seen a net 71, 73, 73, 72. CSS 73. Consistent?

No.

The 71 was ok golf. Finished bogey, double, but it was in a thunder storm.
The first 73 started double, double, bogey, and then I dropped 5 shots in the last 6 holes. The middle was ok.
The next 73 included a treble among other disasters, and 4 bogeys out of the last 6 holes. Solid finishing.
Today's 72 was the best of the lot. Out in 8 over, and it took 4 holes to get the ball off the ground. I was still thinning pitch shots after the 8th. back in 1 over. Proper golf on the back nine.

So four very different rounds, but same result.

I'll take it, it's better than shooting 100, but I'd like to put at least one flash round together!

If you were playing any better than that your h/cap would be lower.... you are what you are. Good job you keep fudging up the last few holes... you'd be off 5 otherwise!!!

Your very consistent at Scrambling Murph......

Score card dont care what way the numbers god down on them Pal.....

Sounds like an answer to thinned pitches would make a big difference. I know if I get them its trying to help them into the air rather than scuffing them into the dirt.

I haven't thinned anything for years, so it was completely out of the blue. Fatting or shanking is more my style, although my short game in general is pretty good.

I think stopping being a nervous wreck would help the most.

CSS yesterday turns out to be 74, so I'm back down to 8.8.

Result!
