Hi with the so called advances in technology over the past couple of years making drivers longer and having tighter dispersion, how would they compare to the non conforming ones from a few years back? as most were banned due to being too long

Cheers

Chris

It may have had a small affect initially but the manufacturers and designers soon recaptured any lost distance pretty much same with the groove rule. It's all a fame of cat and mouse between makers and rulers.

Helped me justify a new shiney to HID though! :-)

i have a non conforming driver, its only 416cc, and older cally spec of 2007 ish, but its a fantastic club.

its miles shorter than any of the 460cc big dogs out there but R&A rule it as not conforming with a hot face. as its so easy to hit, it generally goes around the group to the novices looking to try and hit a driver, once they have worked it out they buy what suits. its a fantastic stick...

I took my old TM R580 XD (non-conforming with rules and banned in competitions) driver to the range and compared it to my new TM RBZ driver and didn't find there to be much in it. The most noticeable thing for me apart from the black/white colour difference was the longer shaft length in the RBX. I feel I'm less accurate with it than the 580 DX and so I'm thinking I might change it out for a shorter shaft anyway. However I'm also probably more used to a club I've had for years than one I've had for weeks so at the moment I'm keeping it stock . In any case if I gripped down a bit on the RBZ they both felt pretty similar.
