My very rough train of thought when I'm walking to my ball goes something like this.
It's uphill so I'll add 5 yards for that, into a stiff breeze there's another 20 and 10 more because I'm freezing my nuts off. The flag's at the back and I don't want to be over the back so take 5 off. That's 30yds, so when I get to my ball and see the distance to the flag is 150, I know to hit my 180yd club.
Surely that's easier than measuring your distances into a strong breeze in the cold so you know which one to hit?
I daresay some people can just look at the shot and pull the right club, but I'm not one of them.
Yep yep and yep, I agree with this...
