Been using this theory recently and for the most part it's working.

As a mental key, thinking you've got too much club, will help keep you from swinging the hell out of the club to get the distance you need and produce a smoother swing, better contact and more consistent strike.

It's not 100% fool-proof but seems to be producing more consistency in my game.

Aztecs you are indeed learning, takes most men all of their golfing life to realise that 'theory'.

Have a gold star!

I am very interested in this but worry that if I feel I have too much club I don't commit to the shot. Did you have this feeling and how did you clear it.

I just try and have confidence in my swing. If I'm worried about having too much, I'll grip down on the club slightly, but having "more" club still gives me the thought to try and not kill it because I've got "more" in my hands.

Not sure what more I can offer. I just don't think about not committing to the shot. Although, I probably will now. Cheers for that  :D

I find I can quit on it doing that regularly. I prefer to swing normally making sure I compress down and make a ghood hip turn and don't sway. Know your yardages and trust the swing but hey if it works clubbing up and swinging shorter then go for it. It's all about finding something that works for you and repeats

If you're clubbing up and swinging easier then that is your swing is it not ? What do you do when you then want to club up and swing smoother :D :D eventually you'll be 5 clubs more and only using a 2' backswing ;)

Do you practise this shot as if its your intended swing for ever or do you just use it occasionally on the course when you're out of sync with your 'normal' swing , im confused :D

With you fella. Entire concept makes no sense to me either :D

The latter. Apologies for not making myself clearer. I can see why it might sound confusing. It seems to help cleanse the body if I'm hacking around like a nobler and trying to 'force' the ball.

I've "found" this too, except that I dont even have to club up. A nice rhythmic swing hits just as far as an agricultural one for me and, being old and decrepit, it all hurts much less
