Club Throwing after a Bad Shot

One of my playing partners Swung his club at his trolley the other week after a series of fat shots, snapped the wheel clean off and had to carry a heavy bag for the rest of the round! Didnt learn though as the next round he smash his club into the bottom of the bag and put a hole in it!

I used to have the odd hurl, very good for the soul to get it out of your system.

But now I've realised it's not the club's fault. It's the ball's fault.

So now I tend to chuck the ball rather than the club.

Just as therapeutic for the soul :D

Theres always one who has never got annoyed or swore, I was wondering who it would be :D

when birchy plays it gets personal between him and the ball.

when he plays a pinnacle its, " you cheap whore, I should have left you in the 5 for a £1 bucket, why did I even take you out".

when he plays with a pro v it, "you over priced glammed up whore, you never do anything I ask, just sit there looking all pretty and you go and do that right in front of me and my friends, you **** ****** *****ing ***** whore"

He makes my foul language seem tame. Its great!

I have been known to have "a word" with the ball on occasion :D

The last round I played I left my ball in the ditch on the 18th at Bolton. I shouted on the way past "You have been a **** all day so you can stay down there"

More a dropper than a chucker me like. Mate of mine in Oz picked up his entire bag and chucked them in the lake. Promptly marched to the clubhouse, got steaming and has not played again since...

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Love it

I'd love to have a game with these lads. I'm pretty placid on the course. I enjoy it far too much to get mad with it. A friend of mine will at least once a round take it out on his bag or trolley. Much to our amusement.

I really don't understand it but I do hope that 'chuckers' get some release from the chucking. I try my best not to laugh out loud but sometimes I can't help it - probably doesn't help matters!

My regular playing partner has a habbit of chucking clubs. Last time he chucked his driver after a bad shot, the shaft struck one of his iron heads and snapped clean in two. I burst out laughing. Served him right.

Played with one guy at our club who is a regular club chucker , bag smasher etc.

It did make me laugh when he snapped the head off his driver last year - trouble was me and the other guy we were with got the giggles about it and stuggled to play for the next few holes.

He got angrier and angrier every time we announced at the tee - I'm thinking driver for this hole , what about you? or similar "innocent" remarks then he stormed off and never returned.

Personally I stick to a quick self berating and slamming the club in the bag.

Played with a similar guy/same guy? First name start with J?

He got so angry he walked onto the green, didnt stop, kept on walking and never seen again, didnt say a word to his fellow golfers:eek:
Quite sad really for a game we all love

I laughed at someone for club chucking! We were a 2 ball in a medal:o. He had a go at me for laughing at him...so I laughed even more, I felt like a naughty school boy. He didn't stay for a drink, then apologised the next week...what a knob.

Anyone that chucks a club is a borderline basket case imo:thup:

Oh I've laughed many a time....like the mate off 22 with a delicate chip over a greenside bunker on soft ground....never the easiest of shots....you could see the nerves as he stepped up to it and yes, duffed it into the bunker... but only at the second attempt after duffing it six inches with his first......then proceded to chuck club which ended up stuck in the ground vibrating just like the bolt in the crossbow advert. The rest of us could have been done for holding up play we were laughing so much.

Personally....
hit bag, broken driver - tick
wrapped around tree - tick
casually launched 10 yards or so and broke shaft - tick

Witnessed:
£100 wedge thrown in pond that wasn't visible from where he played shot.
Had to wave a group through once as mates driver was stuck up tree.
Mate duffed rescue about 30 yards, threw it in trees. Duffed 7 iron next shot and wrapped it around trolly.

Lots of examples of why throwing should be the go to option!!

I bent all the clasp and strap on the watch my wife bought me for our wedding. Throwing my clubs in a pond and buying replacements would have been cheaper and less stressful!!
