So it costs £80 to put a plate on retention and then another £80 to put it back on?

So to swap over plates on our cars is £320 and I've lost the original plates for mine so if I wish to drive in between I need to buy a set of plates

What do you mean by don’t own?
My mate has his plate on a lease motor and HID has one one her PCP motor.

Currently my wife's plate is on the car with the V5 in her name and my plate on my cars V5.

We're thinking of swapping cars and that involves swapping plates too.

Yes, I bought a private plate for HID and assigned it to her car. You get the option to assign to someone else so it’s not an issue.
