Busted. A Cheat Caught

That seems like a heck of way to try and bring you handicap up - go to near and golf club and then start a card on the App

Also someone needs to attest the cards as well ?

If you want to manufacture your handicap you don’t need go to an away club - you just do it at your home club 🤷‍♂️

But it’s something that needs someone to help you
I was going to post up this. Why do it at another course? Although, my scores at other courses can be pretty horrific. Maybe he thought he could use that as excuse for high scores. Dunno?

It might not be standard behaviour in as much as not everyone is doing it. This does not mean that the tool is not part of the problem.
You cannot eliminate dishonesty but you can do your best not to facilitate it and the current system regrettably facilitates it.
Agreed, and this is where the EGApp falls down. I have written to EG about geo location for the atttester but they don’t want to know.

Can you I put a score on HowDidiDo? I played with a friend yesterday who said he was putting a card in and ended up getting a lift, despite us playing pairs match play and having gimmes 😬
Well not matter what ISV, or App, that round is inadmissible for handicapping.

i would assume (always dangerous) that if hes made up his score then he would make up a person to sign for it. im just guessing here but i'll wager that the person who is down as marker probably doesnt exist or doesnt know that their name has been put dowm as scorer
There are always people out there trying to cheat the system, but doing it to win money off your friends or a board comp is really quite sad..... you never know what goes on inside someone else's head do you.
Not possible. THe attester must have a H/C and gets a message on the EG app asking for them to attest a score.

If they were completely made up scores, I imagine he just chose the nearest course so he wouldn't have to leave his house to do it. Especially if it was a muni/council course where he figured they'd be lax at checking things or having records etc.

Oh yes, never thought of that.

Nah - would need to have a CDH number to be able to log into the EG app

the card needs to be sent to someone on the app or if using the clubs ISV someone within the club

Bit extreme but what's stopping someone setting up a fake igolf account for £40 a year or whatever it is to send scores to themselves?

That'd be quite some operation in ripping off his mates in the swindle if he already has to clear 40 quid to make a profit. :ROFLMAO:

How do you know this? Would the club get a notification that an ig card has been submitted?
There is a daily score listing which shows all the cards submitted for handicap at your course by day. They are displayed either by your ISV e.g. Intelligent Golf Your Club or ‘digital scorecardk. The latter is the EG App, if you click on the score you can see the signature as well as the name and CDH number of the attester.

On these scores you can see what time the card was registered / downloaded when it was submitted and when it was attested. The EG App is better than an ISV card for this,

If their (the attesters) name isn’t on your tee sheet or visitors book then either they weren’t present or they owe you a green fee.

Maybe a bit extreme, although £40 is loose change for a lot of people. So, if someone is really wanting to cheat their handicap, investing £40 might seem like a bargain. Especially if it helps them win more club events, swindles and Open events with decent prizes.

We have disabled GP submissions on HowDidIDo as the verification system is far from satisfactory.

He also won a board event so there would have been a large amount of cash in the prize fund from the club so not just money from his mates

Fair play to the club for looking into it. Could easily have just Ignored
