How would politics work if no one ever discussed things?

I would like to know how a few hundred thousand Somalians arriving in this country with no English, no money and no qualifications helps our economy.

Why do we need immigration? Isn't the country full? If it is to pay for the pension defecit, when all these new immigrants get old, will we need even more? When does it stop. Why would they go home to retire, and if they do, why won't they taken their money with them? How can they be helping pay our pensions, when they don't have a job, and probably never will.

I love politics.

Why are we building so many homes in the South East. There have been tens of thousands of new homes near Watford. Are there any new schools, no, new hospitals, no, new water reservoirs, no, new GPs and dentists, no. How is this going to work?

There are way too many people living here in the south east. When is someone in government going to realise this.

It isn't to do with clothing. They can wear what they like. Just get a juob, and pay some tax.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to use the word "indigenous".

What wording was I supposed to use. 'Native British' perhaps? :D
Anyway, I have no problem with immigration per se. As long as said immigrants bring tangible benefits to the country.
The fact that some travel through dozens of other countries to get here, shows that they themselves look on Britain as a soft touch.

further to this

I work in Housing and Council Tax benefits, the number of recent immigrants to the UK how want to make a claim for full benefit is enormous, often the first thing they ask for " I WANT an interpreter"
Which is then provided for them - usual via a conferance call at the tax payers expense.....
tax credits, hsg ben, ctax ben, income support/JSA, furniture allowance, free school meals, social tariffs for heating and electricity - nice cushy number the UK

This leads on to immigration and where we can actually learn something from the US.

Sorry, this is slightly veering off topic, but the conversation was moving this way.
There is plenty wrong in the USA, but they have certainly got immigration more right than the UK.

Being that they are basically a country of immigrants, how do they manage to stay so patriotic?

Given that immigration is a huge part of their history, how come it is so restrictive these days?

Doing something because "We've always done it that way" is never the right answer.
