(Bubba) You have to wonder about a sport that asks.....

i find it hard to warm to him, but can't believe that someone who goes through the adoption process and seems to care so much for these children is entirely a tool.

originally i assumed that the remaining 80 respondents named Fat Pat as the one they didn't like, but it wasn't noteworthy enough to be a headline.

Patrick was next after Bubba....11% I think.

At least they didn't say they would join in with the kicking!

To be honest I have never been a fan but still in awe at some of the shots he makes.

Bubba falls into a category where if they are playing against anyone else I want the other person to win.

Maybe they meant bubbas a big lad and can handle himself in a square go, he wouldn't need my help?? Lol
He has said some/done some stupid things but I'm surprised he is above fat pat by such a big margin.

Funnily enough i thought it ment that too

If shouting 'not good' is one of the worst examples of his personality, then he can't be all that bad.

I wonder how others would appear if all of their actions were reported on.

No, that is closer to an example of one of the better aspects of his personality.

Numerous examples of far worse abound, mostly moodiness and prima donna-ish behaviour. google 'French Open Bubba' for starters.

I'm just amazed he ranked higher than Patrick Reed. One of the most unlikeable characters in World Sport, not just golf. The things I've read about him defy belief.

If you've got 15 mins to spare, give this a read. It's a real eye-opener:

I think Reed's exploits and past are just a bit less well known to many, and some are doubtful until they are more widely confirmed. Bubba has a long and wide track record of stuff on the PGA Tour which many have seen. Reed also wins some counterbalancing brownie points for his Ian Poulter style stuff at the Ryder Cup. Bubba doesn't have much of that going for him.

I don't care much for either, and if Bubba starts winning loads of Masters, may seriously damage the event.

I feel quite strange about this, but I quite like both Watson and Reed. Can't really explain why, except for the fact that they are usually interesting to watch. I can't take to the Automaton types that infest Sport these days.

I think I think exactly this too...

Well, Chesson Hadley and Harris English are probably really nice, but I agree a lot of these identikit Tour pros are dull.

But you don't have to act like a Bubba or Reed to be interesting. Try Rory, Spieth, Stenson, Phil Mick, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson etc.

Are you saying that the above players are without faults? If you look closely (and sometimes you don't have to look that closely) you'll find significant character faults in almost everyone listed. Some just hide it better than others I suppose.

I thought Pro's were judged on their golfing ability not popularity. I'm not saying it's alright to be an intolerable person, but what a stupid question to put into a poll.

It's the question that gets clicks. And as we all know in journalism these days, that's the most important thing.

Of course not, and one in particular has just endured some serious rumours about his time away from the game, but in terms of the picture they offer on the course, it is largely exciting and non-automatonic without being unpleasant.

Your post gave the impression that you deplored the robotic anonymous smiling but unrecognisable players coming off the production line. I do too, but there are still plenty of characters, some good, some bad.
