Best budget golf ball ever

We've got a thread at the moment for the worst golf ball ever (Taylor Made Burner for me all things considered).

What are your favourite budget golf balls though?

I'll get things rolling and say Dunlop Loco!
My first box of golf balls ever and surprisingly softer than I imagined them to be.

The Dunlop NZ9-V3 at £9.99 for 12 has had some great reviews and is a 3 piece ball. Not a golf snob... I don't mind what type I lose!

I agree with this and the NZ9 V2 are pretty decent as well for a winter ball and only £7.99 a dozen. Other than that, Wilson Staff DX2/3 are rarely more than £12 to £13 a dozen and if you can get to a Decathlon store then Inesis do so right bargain balls that are pretty decent as well.

These days I refuse to pay more than £15 a dozen as there is always something decent available for that price if you cannot justify a premium ball.

People seem to have missed the point a little on this thread, to me the word - ever, at the end of the subject suggests this is a historic look at balls, not current budget balls.

interesting thread none the less though

But surely budget balls from the present are going to be much better than budget balls from 20 years ago, therefore the best ones are going to be current balls

Depends how you view it i suppose. I would be comparing them agains their peers at the time? otherwise it would be like comparing the big berth to the SLDR as the best driver....?

Gareth, where are you finding such a bargain? The usual spots, ClubhouseGolf etc are £19.99 at best! Pretty please? :)

Golf Depot used to do them at £12.50, but they are now £15.00 on that site. Still a bargain, but slightly less of the bargain Gareth and my good self got at £12.50.

It may not seem cheapest, but I have to say the DT SoLo. At £19.99 a dozen, it gives everything to your game including a very soft feel around the greens and explicit distance. Better than the AD333 in my opinion.
