Okay, having done those who should never be heard from again, who are the ones (if any) who are still out there and could still do it but don't?

Personally would like to see Dire Straits re-form; Knopfler is still one of the best, he still uses some of his former bandmates in his tours and they can all still do it. He tosses a few Dire Straits numbers into his gigs, but a whole night again whilst they still can would be fantastic.

Yes please Mark if you're reading this.

Not sure if the're all still alive, but would love to see Supertramp.

Also, he's still touring but rarely comes to the UK - John Cougar Mellencamp.

Supertramp were the subject of the best ever letter to Smash Hits. "If Supertramp claim to be the sound of the Mid-Atlantic, please can they go and live there".

Rumours abounded for years that it was the Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant who wrote it before he joined the magazine but they never did find out who sent it.

There's an Armenian reggae band called Reincarnation, I think they've already come back... trouble is I don't know who they were before!

The Thieves, just so I could hear 400 dragons live

The Kinks. Just so I can tell Ray Davies that my Dad thinks he's crap as I did back in the 1980s :-)
The Winter Dance Party Tour from 1958. Buddy, Richie and JP.

Would love to see the original Marillion line up again with Fish on vocals doing Misplaced Childhood or Clutching At Straws in their complete forms. Nothing wrong with Steve Hogarth and the band has done some excellent stuff post Fish and I know they got together to do Market Square Heroes in Aylesbury a few years back. Not sure it'll happen now even though the band and Fish are closer as friends and have seemingly patched up old disagreements.

I thought I read recently that the two brothers had settled their long standing differences (over 20 years), so were reforming.

I saw them about 10 years ago when they were on better terms and, "back in the day" like Sharks dad, thought they were crap, but live they were really good
