If HMaster is used for results etc, why inter it in EG?
Because it’s on an away course and you can’t enter those scores for qualifying purposes

As there isn't a link from Handicap Master to the EG portal so scores are not uploaded onto players' records unless input via the EG App.If HMaster is used for results etc, why inter it in EG?

Correct. There is normally a link when we play our comps at Home of course, but not Away. The link doesn't then exist, there must be a good reason why this is but I can't see one.As there isn't a link from Handicap Master to the EG portal so scores are not uploaded onto players' records unless input via the EG App.
I'll check this out, what a palaver though.I believe you can request that the home club grants permissission for you to run an event on their course. This certainly happens when County comps that are, of course, always held at away clubs. The County uses their own software but the clubs must give their permission. I have seen the requests come in but not sure what sort of organisation can raise them - Counties and EG certainly can as probably things like Mizuno Pairs can do also.
Worth checking with EG if club to club can.

Any idea why they EG set it up this way?Clubs can only submit scores from their own course(s) through their ISV.
EG Approved Tournament Organisers can (for an annual fee) submit competition scores from any rated course at any affiliated and SafeGolf accredited club in England.
So a golf club without a home course cannot have competitions and scores entered as "qualifying" (whatever that is) and used for handicap determination?

I'm sure there are several golf clubs that don't own or run golf courses. For example, in St Andrews. If I was to ever open up a golf club one of the first things on my checklist of "must haves" would normally be a golf course![]()

I see there is a query on their website.I would check with Handicapmaster.
There are many societies. It needs to have an ISV and authorisation from the governing body
But what golf club doesn’t have a home course
A club does not need to own its home course. Some course in Scotland have more than one club operating from their municipally owned course.I'm sure there are several golf clubs that don't own or run golf courses. For example, in St Andrews.
I think its the other way around.I would check with Handicapmaster. I wonder if you configure the comp to allow visitors to compete and add the non-members' details to the visitors' list (names and EG number). I think I have done this in the past and it worked, but I would check with Handicapmaster.
Handicapmaster will also search the WHS database for you - go the visitors section and that is an option. I am assuming that you are the host club and want to enter scores from players of other clubs.
