As it happens I played a mixed foursomes match this evening - club mixed 4somes knockout. Excellent match and very enjoyable. My partner played off 19 - opposition bloke off 10 and lady off 17 - so we got 1 shot. My partner doesn't hit ythe ball particularly far, but she didn't miss a fairway off the tee. I reckon we knocked it round in about 11 over gross off the ladies and gents competition tees. We won 2 up. And it was seriously competitive. Roll on the next round. Always enjoy playing with the ladies.

Play in the winter and summer mixed knockouts, plus all the mixed pairs club matches. Thoroughly enjoy them.

Whilst I love women dearly I have no desire to play sport with them especially golf, just my opinion and viewpoint, however I don't enjoy the chat or the game, sorry ladies but you are definitely better off without me anyway.

We have two mixed trophies at our club both greensomes, there are fun mixed greensomes held once a month, which are called frolics. The club also plays in the Archie Preston Throphy a Manchester and District mixed foursomes knockout.

A game of golf is a game of golf to me. I put my name down for whatever goes up on the Board next. Thoroughly enjoyed the games I have had with ladies and juniors and would sign up again tomorrow.

Would rather play with a short hitting fun senior lady than a grumpy single figure male handicapper.

I'd happily play some mixed events if they weren't such a closed shop! Though having not settled at the new club for a variety of reasons off to find some pastures new where hopefully I can play more in general and add in some mixed events.

Last time we hada lady on our team has left me scarred - and a pulled rib muscle from laughing so hard.

Pro am team of 4, the pro, me, a lovely old senior and the lady.

The old boy and lady were of similar standard so they chatted quite a bit about clubs to hit and lines etc. We got to the 13th green and they both had par putts (with shots) from directly opposite sides of the hole from each other. They both crouch down for a read and ater agreeing on the line, the old boy goes and just misses.

The lady lines her ball up and crouches down behind it to look at the line again. The old boy taps his in then retreats to look at the line behind the ball. Staring directly at the lady who is crouching down in her Skort - he declares that it is definitely inside left lip.

I could not play my shot for a few minutes after as the old boy coughed and spluttered an embarrassed apology - everything from then on being turned into an innuendo like some Carry on Golfing.

Never again!!!! :)

^^^precisely my view. My lady partner in the mixed 4somes comp is maybe late 60s early 70s (of course I would never ask)

And boy is it good ALWAYS playing from the fairway off her tee shots. And it means that I get a chance to play longer approach irons than normal - from perfect lies.

No issue with it at all!

Used to get called up all the time as a reserve at my old place all the "willing" ladies were generally paired up already but if their partners had to cancel or couldn't make a date I'd often get asked to step in!

Couldn't agree more mate, i play golf for enjoyment and as long as the people i'm playing with enjoy it as well, be it juniors, seniors or ladies all's good with me:)

The first time I played a mixed game was as a "sorry" for some drunken chat up to a lady nearly twice my age. I quite enjoyed it. I have no problems playing mixed matches, in fact they make me behave myself. But I have not signed up for anything as I am married to a non golfer, which is a major shame :( as she doesn't understand a thing about golf.

I played in a mixed 4bbb last night and it was thoroughly enjoyable. My lady partner was about 70 and off 15 and was fun company. I sort of practised mixed golf by playing with Smiffy at the Tyrells Wood meeting the day before. Robobums story reminded me of a game I played for the first time with a great fun, and good looking, lady captain some while back. We were both on our haunches looking down the line of her putt, her in front of me. After a few seconds she asked " what do you make the line then" and my reply was " I havn't got a clue I was just enjoying the view"
