But I have not signed up for anything as I am married to a non golfer, which is a major shame as she doesn't understand a thing about golf.

This is indeed a bit of a problem I have. HID doesn't appreciate me spending 5 hrs with a lady she does not know in a foursomes (with all the connotations of that word). Worse when I find myself playing with one of our 40-something well-off divorced ladies And imagine when HID finds out that she is - erm - rather attractive - as one mixed partner I have on occasions is - raatherrrr... It's only golf my dear - nothing else - it's what golfers do.

Our place has lots of mixed comps. Some are really good fun. Got another coming up Sunday and have my normal partner and two ladies who are off 10 and 13 which should be interesting.
Unlike SLH and Harpo, I am married to a golfer... A good golfer and I am man enough to play against her. As long as I accept that I am going to lose and lose badly (last time was a 6&5 mauling).
When I get paired with ladies in comps my wife's first question isn't about how they look or their age, it's "so what do they play off?"
