Alignment stick on the course ?????

I had the same problem of aiming right but feeling like I was aiming straight.
I now tee my ball up and use a marker that’s a few feet in front of it to line up.
Square the club face up to the ball & marker &set up my stance to that.

if that makes sense.
I thought that I was doing exactly that. The pro thinks repetition with the stick will reprogram the wonky perception.

There is a video on YouTube by Mike Malaska that explains this complex issue.
It’s your eyes telling you one thing and your brain telling you something else.
It’s a putting video but is the same problem in the full swing.

Basically you put a marker down on a spot on the grass in front of your ball in line with the hole.
Then before taking your stance cover the spot with a score card.
Line up to the hole then remove the card.
I was aiming miles right. The marker looked miles left it’s weird.
Still have trouble with this aspect of alignment.
It’s my dominant eye .

This I practice after my pro advised on dominant eye confusing the brain, then the brain making adjustments accordingly. I aim dead straight, my brain sees me missing left so causes me to adjust to the right…and so I miss right. Pretty much sorted now with a new routine that nullifies the dominance.

The Mike Malaska vid is abs bang on the money…weird as it might seem.

On the subject of poor aim, I know before a shot you're not allowed to say to someone "you're aiming 10 yards right". But if you notice their aim, and they go ahead and play the shot, and end up 10 yards right; as they stomp off swearing, are you allowed to say "That's exactly where you were aiming"? Or does that count as advice for further shots?
