How does the algorithm work? Net par on holes not recorded?yes they are made up using an algorithm

Nonsense.
It appears to me that this system has been brought in to try and curb banditry.
To many 4 ball comps and those where there is no draw and mates can play with mates.
Cheats will be cheats.
Everyone should do as you currently do - only record the first to score the better score - so no, you shouldn't change. My mate and I hit the 42 point threshold in an open last weekend (betterball pairs). He got a cut but I didn't because his score counted on ten holes and mine on eight.
In betterball, it's my habit to only write down the better of the two scores. On holes where we both score the same, I put the score against whoever holed out first. I'm wondering if I should start noting down both scores all the time (and obviously asking our marker to do likewise). We could each score higher on six holes and tie on the other six. Effectively giving each one of us 12 scores that were better than or equal to one another.
Is it possible for both players to get a cut in betterball stableford? Do the common competition software packages allow/expect one score or two for each hole in betterball? And is each score entered against an individual or just against the team? Wondering if anyone with knowledge of running comps has any helpful information.
Not if it helps reduce banditry and pot hunting. It’s a shame that the system that they have brought in overall has helped encourage banditry
The 4BBB acceptable scores is a joke

That’s exactly why it was introduced but it isn’t harsh enough. The 1.5 points if your partner gets 2 points really limits the stableford score and the cut you receive, especially if your partner is throwing in 3 pointers to win the comp.It appears to me that this system has been brought in to try and curb banditry.

We’ve started holing out everything in 4bbb as it’s a right pain in the behind entering the scores when the system wants both scores and you have to keep pressing 0 then “played but did not score” for 18 holes. Much easier just to enter both scores and let the computer deal with it.
These sort of statements get thrown around when looking to justify ridiculous decisions they makeThere was significant demand by players and clubs to ensure good performances in 4BBB events were reflected in the player's handicaps automatically, without needing excessive manual intervention by handicap committees and relying on players to report scores back.
The only alternative was the hugely unpalatable (for now) MLS.
HowDidiDo. Last few 4bbb comps have asked for both players scores, maybe just the way the club has set them up. If you have to put both scores in then it’s just easier to hole out rather than the “played but did not score” message 18 times.Must be good for pace of play to hole out every hole
What system do you use ?

Can't you just skip to the holes you scored on? That's what we do when entering scores for a 4bbb. It's not unusual for people to ridicule things they don't understand or know much about. These sort of statements get thrown around when looking to justify ridiculous decisions they make
wonder where these players and clubs are
