Well done killie just what scottish football needs
as it's clear Celtic are gonna win everything for the next few years maybe this result will show its not a totally dead league and sponsors can be found .

There was a story on sky this morning that Celtic are in talks to join league 1 but I'm not sure they would go for that as they would loose the European money

That would be more than covered by TV cash Grumps.

The amount Sky would pay for even a game versus Bury would dwarf what they pay for a match versus the Pars etc.

It won't happen but personally I would love it to.

Interesting, they'd win League 1 at a canter but I think the championship would be tougher to get out of - would take a few seasons probably. A few more years before they could be competitive in the premiership but might be worth it in the long run.

Could be their best chance to go to England TBH, with Rangers out of the picture at the moment.

I'd be disappointed though - would rather see Scottish football revived. Somehow!!!

Aye, that'll 'learn' Celtic for sneering at Rangers these past few weeks!:ears:

Seemed like a poor game but nice for the small team to win one. Celtic may be the best team in Scotland but they're still pretty rank in the scheme of things.

Can't see any way out of this very poor Scottish club football product but considering there's no money the key must be to try and develop better football at kids and youth level to bring our own players on by focusing more on basic skills and passing rather than just aggression and fitness.

Football in Scotland in the 1980's was a half decent product with 5 teams competing for prizes and gaining reasonable successes regularly against European teams. Don't know where it's all gone wrong.

i cant see it happening either as clubs all over europe would want to start moving to other leagues

The EPL is starting to sssstutter.
Look at the many half empty terraces of clubs when the match is on TV. That will kill TV coverage as there would be no match atmosphere.
The money that Celtic and even a re-formed Rangers would bring to the table would be a real boost to both TV and clubs. Just imagine the amount of money 20,000 visiting Celtic fans would bring to a team/town like Southhampton.
Every Rangers and Celtic home game would be a 60,000 sell out.
There are only three clubs in England with higher home gates than Celtic and Rangers.

I think that England need them as much as they need England.

I'd be on the border waving them off.

Take the oppertunity to restructure Scottish football without the bigot brothers.

Expand to 14 or 16 team top tier. Have a division below and have a structure where junior teams such as Arthurlie, Pollok, Auchenleck, Irvine Meadow etc can qualify for the leagues through play offs etc.

Move to summer football, bring in a must play 5 home born players, must field 2 under 21's and watch Scottish football deveop from grass roots right the way up again.

Surely we can't have foreign teams invading the English leagues. It's bad enough with the Welsh duo. Seriously though, surely Uefa would'nt sanction teams moving to play in other countries leagues.

Great ideas craw but unfortunately we have people running Scottish football who have no idea what the fans want or what is needed, as they are only interested in keeping the Old Infirm happy and will bend over backwards to make sure that they get what they want, and they want a 10/12 team top league so they can play each other 4 times a season.

The gruesome twosome have no interest in the rest of Scottish football and it would probably make them happy if every other club went into liquidation leaving them in a league of two where they can play each other every week

And far from what Old Infirm fans and outsiders believe, in the long term Scottish football would be far better off without them

P.S. Congratulations to Kilmarnock F.C and all their supporters, and also what terrible news about Liam Kellys father, a day that should be remembered as one of the best days of his life will unfortunately be one of the saddest. RIP Mr Kelly
