This train wreck happened at our par-4 2nd hole this morning. The sequence was as follows:
1) reasonable drive into the right hand semi.
2) slightly pulled 7-iron into the semi left of the green.
3) attempted chip onto the green with a lob wedge, which was a double hit. Add one penalty shot.
5) attempted putt from the fringe which got stuck in the grass and didn't even make the green.
6) another putt from the fringe which I hit 6 feet past the hole.
7, 8 and 9) three putts!

Argghh. Wakes up screaming!

I still managed to get round in 87.

Would anybody care to recount their train wrecks on one hole?

Par 4 16th, 440+ yds.

1 - good drive
2 - heavy 4 iron, 50yds short of the green
3 - bladed wedge, over green into a bush
4 - hack with wedge, ball didn't move
5 - penalty stroke, unplayable lie
6 - hack with wedge, ball moved 1 yard
7 - duffed chip
8 - VERY average chip, leaving 10 foot putt
9 - nailed the putt

I class it as an up-and-down ;)

About 20 years ago I had a 14 in a medal on a par 5.
Without losing a ball or adding a penalty.
I hit the same ball 14 times.
To be honest, I can't remember the details but I hit the fairway from the tee and was greenside (no bunkers) in 4......
Not a clue after that....

I can't seem to remember the details other than it ended up being an eleven on a par three .I think it went something like nine off the tee and two putts.

Had a 12 in the July monthly medal.
1st ball lost so provisional in play.
Shank into water.
6th shot into bunker.
7th thinned OOB
9th just out of bunker
10th onto green
two putt for 12.

This was on the ninth hole Par 5. Thought it could not get much worse! Had same 9 hole score for back nine :-(

Hooked drive off the tee deep into trees, never to be seen again 1
Reload and sky it so badly no-one even sees where it went. 3
Reload, sky it again, clips the tree and drops behind shelter adjacent the tee. 5
Chip 10yd sideways and 10yd forwards on to front of tee 6
Good hybrid down the fairway 7
Good hybrid just short of fringe 8
Chip on and two putts 11

Tee to hole, 5 as usual - shame about the other bits

A couple of weeks ago in a medal I started triple, par, par, par, par, par......... 12 on a par 4.
1st. Pushed 5 iron into deep rough
2. Hack at it, advance 4"
3. Hack it again advance 2ft
3.5 calm down after nearly snapping the club round my neck.
4. Hack it again still in.
5. Hack out sideways.
6. 180yds in big push right into the oak tree
7.results in lost ball.
8. Drop another exactly the same shot. By now I'm laughing but my adrenaline is buzzing as I'm about to burst. Calm down and relax.
9. Lost ball
10. Drop and hit a big push but find it 20 yds right of green.
11. Chip on.
12 dream of a 30 ft putt boom.

next hole par, par. If I remember correctly.

Thank goodness for the 30ft putt. No-one wants a 13 on their card

6th bladed out through the green!
Getting fed up with this hole now!

7. 8 iron tugged into trees on left
8. From behind a tree, chip out sideways
9. PW tugged into trees on left (spotting a pattern yet?) near green

Not too horrendous, from earlier this year. Long par 4; good drive followed by a reasonable 6 iron which finished a few yards short of the green, and only about 6yds from the pin.

3rd shot with a lob wedge because of a bit of fluff between ball and green - double hit, with the second hit going hard left into a greenside bunker. 5th shot found the green and was followed by 3 putts for an 8.

From being 2 under h'cap 6yds from the flag, I finished 2 over h'cap. An easy par/cut became a buffer!
