Played this morning with my usual partner who always blows up somewhere during his round,he always puts his cards in whatever his score[as should be done]today he never made a mistake of any note.+11 no - at all.His handicap is 17 but really should be 13/14,but as i said something usually goes wrong, today he was solid all the way, bandit no way just very inconsistent.Any one else see a score this high in a bogey?

assuming no eagles (as he had no blow ups) equivalent of 47 stableford points, top shooting and a nice cut on its way (he wont be far from 14 tomorrow ;) )

the comp is a bogey where you get a + if you get a birdie or below after your handicap is taken off,you get a zero for a par and a minus for a bogey or above.A board comp is where you get your named engraved on a board and it goes on the wall in the clubhouse

Basically it is a matchplay against the course. If you get a net birdie you win the hole, net par is a half and a net bogey or worse is one back to the course. Obviously the more you are up the better. We've got one comin up next weekend over the four day holiday. It's two rounds but you can pick which two days you want to play on. The only stipulation is you can't play in the morning and go out later the same day (classed as practicing on the course).

Bogey was the original golf term for what we now call par.

A course I used to play at had the orignal stone markers from about 1900 that showed the yards and bogey for each hole.
