you're most feared shot?

Mine is also a bunker shot.
The straight forward greenside bunker shot is easy pease (if you know what to do ;)) but it's the one when you've got 20-30yds to the flag and the ball is way above your feet. I always get out but more often than not come up short.

At the minute. Splashing out of a green-side bunker with very little green to work with.

I always seem to fly it past the flag and leave myself 15+ft back.

At the moment it is any shot into a green that is protected on the right hand side by water/OOB/penal rough. This obviously gets in my head as I always end up hitting horrendous hooks and go miles left of the target. Strangely it doesn't seem to bother me the other way around when trouble is to the left of a green.

Short lob over greenside bunker. The options seem to be
1) Top it into the bunker
2) Fat it into the bunker
3) Thin it into the next county
4) Raise head prematurely and watch it slice miles right into the adjacent bushes
5) Actually lob it, but to the far side of the green/adjacent bunker/adjacent bushes.
6) Lob it so it lands softly within a puttable distance of the hole.

Option 6 is only available when playing on your own.

Not surprised to see this shot come up.
With a little knowledge and a bit of practice, this shot shouldn't give anyone any problems, especially as I see you carry a 60 deg wedge ;)

well bunker shots never used to bother me until I took 8 to get out of one at Royal Liverpool in May. Wasn't even that deep!

Here's one I'm not overly keen on - the very short chip around the green when the ball's sitting down in the rough and the grain of the grass is into you.

No real idea what to do - you have to hit it hard enough to prevent the club simply stopping in the grass, but you might only want to hit it 3 or 4 yards. If you try and dink it you're likely to duff it, but if you try and be aggressive that can bring all sorts of other problems into the equation for a mere chopper like myself.

I suspect the answer is to play it like a splash shot, but that takes a bit of guts when you're only a few feet from the flag knowing that if you scull it 50 yards back down the fairway your playing partners will think you're a bit of a pratt...

It is a stinker, but....

Use your most lofted wedge (I believe you have a wide selection to chose from) and use a shorter backswing than normal and NO wrist hinge. That allows you to be more positive with the shot without the ball flying 15 ft by the hole.
Or to be super cute, address it and hit it right out of the toe. That will have the ball just dying off the clubface.
Sneaky :)

Sideways out of long rough. Either the ball goes 2 yards staying in the rubbish because every blade of grass on the course has grabbed the club on the way through or miraculously it’s like the balls actually sitting on the fairway it flys 80 yards ending up in the same situation on the other side of the fairway.
