This might be a stupid question, forgive me, I'm new to all this malarkey, but does your handicap have to be verified anddo you have to be a member at a club? Golfshake has calculated my current handicap but I've not had the cards signed etc. Also, I'm not a member anywhere and play at a different course most weeks.
If it's required, what's the best way to get an official handicap quickly?

Only way to get an official CONGU handicap is to join a golf club as far as im aware.
Not sure if handicap will need to be verified for this sort of thing though. You may want to check with the head honcho (MikeH)
