Your Weekend Comp - How did it go?

Bit poor had another last 3hole collapse. Which has taken me into the buffer zone and possibly beyond. Score was a nett 76 CSS yet to be determined so I am hoping its 74 SSS is 71 but in div 1 there was 2 scores below and the rest were 74 or higher ... Generally higher as I was in p13 after 25 scores.
The greens were good but the pin positions were hideous, there were no real birdie opportunities, if you missed the hole you would roll off the green on 3-4 greens, 3-4 greens had pins tucked around bunkers or cut within 2 paces of the fringe (semi rough). If the pin was on the green it would be on a localised ridge. Basically if they put hese pins out they should give us a pro map of the greens, because this was a pro set up.
Played with two nice blokes, both of them long term members and were really unhappy about the pin positions ( I did not start the grumping ). On the last hole one of them took him self out by hitting the back of his thigh with his thru swing ... He was on the floor clutching his hamstring, all looked rather dramatic, at first I thought he had done his knee in.
Funniest part of the round, hitting an iron out to a par 3 and just leaving it right and not drawing round :( it hit a sprinkler head bounced left to 12 ft and I sunk the putt for birdie :) and in the 2s ....

Shocking Shocking performance in a 2 man team event , one score on par 4's , both to score on Par 3's & 5's.. Phillip parred the 1st 2 par 4's , then there are 5 out of the next 6 holes that both scores count on , Phil played them well aswell , he also played well on the back 9

are ya geting the gist of MY round ???

We had our Winter League Final on Sunday as it was a complete washout when it was originally due to be played and we've had no spare days to play it until now.

I came second with 36 points (39 won) and took home £70, I'm fairly happy apart from it was another awful day on the greens. I had 35 putts. So in my last 2 comps I have 39 & 35 putts to play 1 over & level to my handicap. It's getting a little frustrating hitting so many greens and not making anything at all.

Hooked my first tee shot, lost ball, blob. Took 3 out of the bunker at a par-5 and doubled the 10th, damn you sausage sandwich.

Rallied a bit with a lot of pars for 35 points, so buffer zone. No birdies at all.

Club Champs on Saturday in tough conditions. Finished 4th gross and best nett. Incurred 2 shot pen on the 16th - correct but the calling of it left a bit to be desired and took some of the oomph out of me. Anyhow...overall played ok and putted like a dream which is a confidence boost as that has been my issue in nervy medal comps.

Sunday David and I played 1/4 finals (mixed greensomes) and won 1 up. Played really well with 4 birdies but still went down the 18th - held on for the win - a good day :-)

So 12 consecutive days of golf with 2 of those 36 holers and good to get home, watch the US Open and know I wasn't playing today!
