Your Weekend Comp - How did it go?

I was 2 over par going to the 4th hole. Then lost 3 balls of the 4 tee into what could only be described as mega rough. It was past knee height. Ended up getting a 13.

Well you've made me feel a tiny bit better; Duck hook into clag, three off the tee into rough, provisional off tee into rough, couldn't find second ball so hacked provisional out for 6, next OB, rough short right for 9, finished up with a 7 over par 12.

All on the way to 95 gross net 83, rhymes with kite.

holed about a 14 footer on the last to finish with a nett 65, beat wabinez by a shot...he didnt seem impressed. Was leading when i left. board comp too. Very pleased because the round felt a bit untidy, off the tee wasnt great but no disaster holes.

4somes league match away - comfortable 3&1 win for us to contribute to a 4.5 - 1.5 team win.

Poor front nine followed by 1 under for 8 holes coming back, very solid in really windy & rainy conditions.

despite playing some rubbish golf entering the weekend, entered the charity day stableford with little hope. I somehow managed 5 pars on the outward nine, faded a little on the way home , ended with 38pts, CSS was 37.

Now down to 18.2

Really well despite the score, dropped about 10 shots due to practically unplayable rough we had, my fault for going it it I guess...

Lessons learnt and next time more 2h off the tee, that thing was going miles!

Monthly medal yesterday. Very hard with 30mph winds and thick rough. Started with triple and had two other doubles but shot net 73 (+3) and that was what CSS ended up at. Finished 4th in the division. Much improved performance

I recognise the weather conditions (as you are 10miles up the road) - and somehow I managed to keep the ball out of our long and even longer stuff. Seems like nobody else could as I was 4 clear - and CSS was +2. I think I was lucky :)

Strokeplay comp on Sunday, first proper competitive event since getting my handicap.

Out in 50 after leaving 2 shots in the bunker by trying to be be too cute at tightly cut pins rather than just getting the ball out. Back in 44, putter again was cold all day, missed too many putts from 4-6 feet. :(

94 for nett 73, so inside my buffer. I'll take that for my first proper comp.

Nothing at our place this weekend and couldnt get in a open yesterday as it was full.

Just had a bouce game with mates, and shot a good gross score again, i don't think i've ever driven the ball so well.

Won our medal on Thursday with a level net 72. I played in the ladies invitation to the men yesterday, a greensome, I didn't have a partner so I asked the husband of one of our ex lady captains who had recently died to partner me. I didn't expect much, but with the help of 5 pars over the last 6 holes, we came 3rd with a net 65.6. The winners had a hole in one and the couple in 2nd place had a gross 69.

As above,

Had nightmare start, 3 off the tee on the first and and shocking front 9 despite a birdie on SI 2 for the first time in medal play in 2 seasons. NR at 16 where I couldn't find my ball and the tee was backed up a bit for me to go back so as no score n the go there was no point. Up 0.1 to 15.3

What your trials and tribulations?

Big Stuff I feel your pain, I played our 6th hole like a total Weekend Warrior on Saturday hitting 2 shots OOB so ended up 5 off the tee and ended up making a Bill & Ben:o

I was just plodding away till that point, still shocked even now. Ended up shooting 78 -5 for a net 73 and CSS was 74, so after that shocker I managed a .3 cut and finished 7th.

A Bill & ben (WTF.....)

Chopped round in 88 on Saturday in the first round of the Club Championship qualifiers. Was level par after 4 and hit a great drive down 5 but, as we were walking down the fairway after our tee shots, a guy coming up 4 played my ball  He literally hit it right back to within 10 yards of me. Kind of fell apart after that. Came back yesterday and shot 76.

Qualified for the knockout and got cut to single figures :)

I got cut:thup:

only 0.2 after 36 points in the stableford, I guess the css crept up. I finished 10th out of 84,

on the cusp of single figures again :whoo:

Weather was really poor on Saturday and I seemed to have completely forgotten how to putt altogether!!

Didn't break 100 and now up to 18.3 :(

Saturday 34 points with N/S, Sunday 32 with 2 N/S but after the performance over the last few weeks I am actually happy about that. Still 0.2 back so getting further away from the single figure target I have set myself.
