Your Questions for... Mark King - CEO of TaylorMade

What do you think of the amateurs golfers views that drivers and clubs are starting become like cars where it appears resale value is more important these days ?

What did you hope to achieve or find out in doing undercover boss ? & did you succeed ?

As an ex TM fanboy I have moved away from the brand due to the cycle of new products devaluing any investment I have made in the brand. Do you ever see TM as a company slowing down its release cycle?

What products (if any!) have other manufacturers released that have impressed you?

Should golf be made more fun and enjoyable for the average amateur? And if so what do you feel is the greatest obstacle to the game being more fun at the moment?

Are there discernible differences between the different territories you operate in when it comes to how often they replace existing equipment?

Where geographically do you see the major growth markets for your equipment?

Do you think we will get to the stage where irons no longer have a number on the bottom of a club but instead just the loft angle, like wedges? if not then don't you think that would be more useful nowadays?

Do you think the seeming obsession with distance when marketing new golf clubs by just about every company will dissipate, and be replaced by more emphasis on forgiveness, something you could argue is more useful to the average amateur than an extra 3 yards?

Does it upset you when TM gets such a bashing on forums, when other manufacturers are now doing the same when it comes to product releases and distance claims? Do you believe the saying all publicity is good publicity? And if so do you laugh like a drain when you see page after page of discussion and comment on golf forums when you release a new driver ;)

1. Given that you claim added distance with every club you release, how much further can the credibility of your marketing stretch before it is regarded as marketing guff?

2. My bad shot is a wild slice with my driver. Should I spend £300 on a new driver that's going to be superseded within the year, or spend it on lessons?

Considering that I have a lot of (now old) TM Shineys, Can I get a full fit for a new set?? :ears:

1) Who is Mark's role model in business? Mark did bring a certain Steve Jobs-esque Apple keynote to some of the TM product launches.

2) Has he changed after doing 'Undercover Boss'?

Why do the majority of promotional photos of clubs, particularly Drivers, show the sole of the club?
Surely it would make more sense to show us what the crown looks like so we know what it'll look like when we use it.
