Took a 13.

Ended up 3 shots back from the winner.

Didn't we have a thread a few months back that highlighted that it is within the rules that in this type of scenario & after putting & ending up 30 yards off the green you can, if you want, then call it unplayable, take stroke & distance penalty & replay from where you first putted?

Yes correct, it is within the rules to do this......but probably NOT within the spirit of the game.
