just wanted to know what everyones greatest ever shot was? a drive, an iron, a pitch or even a putt?
My personal nomination was a straight as an arrow drive through a narrow avenue of overhanging trees to split the fairway on our 18th the year i won the club championship. The reason i nominate it is this,i was on a decent cutting score, and was poised at 10.4, and had worked out id be cut to single figures, so i was bricking myself! The win was a bonus,as was the nice prize fund!

I'd love to say the 8 iron I holed for eagle but I hit it a little thin so cant really claim that as the best.

I dont really have anything that stands out although I have been close to a few Hole in ones!

I hit a horse once and the ball came back off its rump into play!

Nearly pissed myself with laughter, my ball back in play and a horse in the field opposite running around going crazy, kicking and jumping all over the field!!!!

Hahahaha, still laugh at it now!!!!

Our pro said 'watch this!' (we were all on the putting green which is next to the ninth tee) it is a 140ish par 3 surrounded by 2 bukers in front. The pin was right behind the bunker so hard for people to get to unless they can spin it back.
Well our pro it an amazingly high PW. When we looked at where it went, it pitched 2 inches before the pin jumped forward then spun back all the way into the hole. Nice...

My perfect 7iron on the par 3 4th at Eccleston park which ended up in the hole!

Hit lots of great shots (no really) over the years and all were special at the time because of the situation. Everything from driving par 4's to holing 2nd shots, chip ins etc.

I did enjoy hooking one around the trees and running it between the front bunkers on the 3rd at Leatherhead last year. Had to move it a good twenty yards in the air and called the shot before I played it. It came off to perfection. So much so that scared myself and I three putted.

Holing a full 3iron from 220yds for eagle on the 18th at Walton Heath to beat PING by one hole, it didn't even bounce!

<rolls over and goes back to sleep>.......

i would have to say my 2nd to the 9th last month , on temps , it was playing as a very short par 5 , easily reachable in two, i hit a great drive right down the middle , then hit a 3 iron which bounced back off the flag and stopped a few feet from the pin for a tap-in eagle .but i was playin on my own so knowone saw it :(

From a ball striking point of view hitting a six iron today onto the green of the 181yard 7th. But most of my best shots have been 15-20 foot putts I've drained. Need more experience and time on the full course before I have anything near comparable to you guys.

I am the same as murph ;).

But if i had to was a shot from the side of a bunker 180 out into a strong wind no stance at all or i would have been in the bunker. so thought what would tiger do, so decided to stand fully 45 degrees away from the green opened the face and played the full power fade out about 40 yards right of the green and it faded round to about 25 feet for a easy birdie.

I was drawn to play a 4BBB with a ****. He exclaimed to the rest of our group that i would not be able to better his 4 (on the par 4) even though i was 2 to a bunker right next to the green - did i mention i also had a shot.

I took my sand wedge opened the face so it saw the heavens and tried to spin the ball loads.... inevitably it goes in. That shut him up

Mine would be from a pro-am a couple years ago, was holding onto -1 by my shortgame and a bit of luck. Went through the last green in 2 and was short sided, the chip in for birdie is the one shot that sticks in my mind.

Not one shot, but 5.

Playing in captain/pro challenge with a mate on my old track, a tricky 9 holer. Get to the par 4 dogleg 4th. 5 wood over the trees, hole an 8i 2nd for eagle. Pro lips out, and only gets the birdie. Useless twit, calls himself a golfer.
2nd 9. Hit same 5w, over the trees, same 8i, stops 8" short for gimme birdie. Pro halves with birdie.

So, par 4, played twice, in 5 shots. Not bad golf.

Hitting an identical shot for my eagle on the same hole in the same match...only mine was from 160 yards

;)

The best shot would probably have to be a 7 iron in a league match. Playing away, had about 175 to the pin on the 15th, slight breeze into. Pulled the trigger, good flight, right on line then all ae heard was a massive BANG!!

The ball slammed dunked into the bottom of the cup and at this course they had stiff metal pins. We all looked at each other for a second not sure if a bomb had gone off somewhere at the same time.

Longest shot I have holed was 230yrds with a 5 wood for eagle on a par 4 but for overall effect didn't come close.

Sounds like you duffed and drive.

1005 recovery rate

It wasn't my best one I'll admit that!
445yrd par 4 into a bit of wind, but still no excuse for the drive. I just put the bad shot out of my mind and got on with the task at hand. Only wish I could do that more often!!
