So what's been the best shot to date in your career?

Mine was two years ago on our par 4 18th. About 215 yards with a 7-wood. Struck beautifully onto the apron and rolling onto the green in a curling left to right sweep. I watched it get nearer the hole and suddenly disappear. A moment of bliss only marred by two things.

1) My playing partner (aka Mr Grumpy) grunted "I think that went in" without so much as an additional "great shot!" or similar, and 2) It wasn't an eagle as I'd hit my drive into a copse of trees and had to chop out sideways, so it was a birdie 3.

But still, what a birdie!!!

Over to you...

My second hole in one, a 7 iron 154 yards, landed a foot from the pin with a draw and spun sideways in!

My one and only eagle in 2013. On a par 4, I was 180 ish yards to the pin and on the fairway, thinned my shot and was horrified to see it go about head height. I then became really annoyed when I couldn't find my ball only to have my mate point and call me a lucky b****r. Eagle and one happy me.

Mine was hit on Saturday on the 18th.

Into a very strong wind and 220 from the green I thought I would hit a 3 wood up and leave me a wedge as I never hit fairway woods over 200 when it is still.

Of course I creamed this one and it went out of bounds behind the green.

Felt awesome though even so.

Six iron from the rough to the left of our 12th fairway, maybe 160 yards to the pin.

Good swing, sweet strike, ball goes very high indeed.

Put it to an inch from the cup.

For me it's either the drive on the 8th at Greetham valley. Struck a gorgeous 3wood drawing into the green from the tee. 339 yards to the middle. It was baked hard so had a fair bit of run to get that far but it was probably the best I've ever hit a golf ball.

The other option is again a 3wood from the tee at Ullesthorpe 17th 278 yards and I put it 6inches from the pin for my one and only eagle so far.

Well, it certainly wasn't my only hole in one ever which was the outcome of a sclaff so appalling it would be too embarrassing to describe. :o

My last putt on 18, 11-12 yrs ago,

Just an ordinary medal day, my last round with my cobra irons as i was due for a fitting the next day for some new shineys.

After much grinding and scrambling the last putt went in on 18,

I was +1 for the course, 10 under my handicap, and left with the dilema should i buy new clubs or not !

Well i did change irons and had some very memorable moments with them, 3 aces , many eagles too, but can they do a near level par round ?

Doubtful :)

A few years ago during a scratch match at an away course I was 3 down with 3 to play. Got on in 2 at the long par 5 16th for a two putt birdie to get to 2 down with 2 to play. On the 17th we both hit the fairway and it was my opponent to hit first from 100 yards and he stiffed it for a gimmie birdie. My second from about 80 yards went in the hole for an eagle 2 to keep the match going down the 18th. Unfortunately I could only manage a half with a par on the last so lost the match 1 down. At the end he was 4 under and I was 3 under par. A great match and a couple of shots that I will never forget. My own Ryder Cup condensed into two holes :)

Yesterday , had ballooned driver and left with 315 yards to flag on our 15th par 5 all downhill, fairway slopes from left to right.

Hit 3 wood with a lovely draw that as it curved back left and landed caught the contours around top bunker which threw it back onto the green, green slopes left to back right and it ended up 15 foot from flag, alas no eagle but tap in birdie :D

Green length birdie putt on a 3 tier green. Over clubbed my approach to a front pin and sunk the putt.

The green is about 100 ft deep according to google but the putt was probably in the region of 70.

That beats out my 140 yard holed 8 iron for par and a 374 yard drive.

Standing on the 14th at 4 under par I chipped and hit the flag... it rolled 10ft away and I missed the putt, bogie to go back to 3 under. On the 15th I sunk a 30ft right to left putt to get back to 4 under. Parred the last 3 holes for a PB.

Bit like picking your favourite song...there's so many to choose from :D Best is probably a hooking 6 iron played at Shrigley Hall from under trees on the left, uphill with the lie of the land being right to left. Was aiming at least 60 yards right of green, it hooked perfect and ran perfect onto the green and ended up about 10 feet away. Not the prettiest of shots but it was one of those that was a bit optimistic to say the least but went exactly as I pictured it.
