Since checking for opens in the south east a while back on golf empire it appears that they're not as popular as they are elsewhere in the country and far more expensive.
I can understand the increased fees but why are there so few?
Theres quite a good open 'scene' in Lancs and most seem to fill up with 100s to go at.

the two things are intertwined, drop the prices down to what you pay up north and demand would go through the roof, most of the prices arent much different to guest rates at a lot of the courses so dont get that much interest.
you only have to look at those that are priced well below guest rates and demand rises greatly
