Sorry to bring up old wounds!

I can remember getting to the 13th tee, and being told I was on 31 points.

6 holes later on the 18th green I holed out for 36 points to cries of handicap protection haha

You?

Probably not my worst but possibly most annoying was this week.
I'm playing well at the moment and shot 21 points on the front 9 in the midweek Stableford(+1)
Parred the last for 3 points but only scored 11 in the intervening 8 holes(+7)
Especially annoying as I'd shot level par the previous Friday and +3 yesterday...

As Imurg, not the worst but definitely the most annoying, was about 30 years ago in my late teens.

I played off 10 at the time, and was -4 gross after 14 holes.

Finished double-birdie-bogey-bogey to finish -1.

Worst I've seen, 17 hcpper +1 at the turn, finished +27...
Most annoying personal: -4 thru 5 and missed my buffer where finishing +3 would have seen me get cut to 4 for the first time.

Last year in the first day of the big 2 day final.

-1 gross on the 11th tee.

Horsed that tee shot oob to go double, double, double, double!!!

What a clown

The two I remember the most albeit I have had loads was the GM day at St Pierre a few years back,i was middle of 2 fairways on the back 9 with less than 100 yards in to both greens and dumped both in the water, lost to Homer by 1 or 2 shots for the chance to play at Forest of Arden.

The other was at HFH last year sitting on 20 points after 8 holes messed up 9 completely and scored 12 or so on the back.

Thanks for the thread to jog my memory:thup:

Playing off 2 h/cap and wanting to get a cut I spent 10 entire days on the practice ground prior to a comp.....

On the day of the comp I shanked every iron I hit, politely walked off after 9 holes and didn't play again for 7yrs

I'd call that an implosion

Yeah, I was going to post but won't bother now.

Playing off 12 I walked off the 16th green one over gross. The 17th is a par 3 which I ran up a classy 8 on before going on the double bogey the 18th.

Finished 8 over gross and boy was I peeved.

I can't remember a single one, although I dare say there has been a few. When things are a bit shaky I tend to continue to grind out a score. It might not be pretty but its never a train wreck.

Must admit I am the same. Probably forgotten some, but they can stay that way. I tend to play better on the back nine, as it takes me a while to warm up.

I did have 22 points going out at The Berkshire this year, and went blob, blob, blob, before recovering with 13 points on the last six. Annoyingly lost by a point to D4S and his glamourous partner.

I was +2 over gross at the Hillside KofK 2014 standing on the 16th tee (par 3).

The wind was brutal that day so tried to hit a punched driver into the wind to the 200 yards away flag, carved it right and lost it - gutted. 3 off the tee and ended up with a 6.

Missed an 18 inch putt on 17 and lost another ball on 18.

I finished triple, bogey, triple, and finished 8 over gross, but it was the most enjoyable 15 holes of golf I'd played, in very bad conditions. I still had best gross on the day, but if I could go back and play 1 shot in golf, it would be that punched driver on 16.
