Your best tip of 2015

Slow it all down. Let the club do the work. Exhale during your swing muttering "Severiano Bellesteros" and watch for the ground under the ball before looking up.

Been playing for just over a year. Struggled at first but now regularly in the mid 80s.

You seem to have an extensive knowledge of the game for an inactive 12 handicapper:D

One of the best teachers in my club a few years ago was a guy off about 12. He couldn't do it himself due to some self inflicted physical limitations (about 4 stones worth!) but he could spot someone's fault in an instant & was instrumental in helping one of my least physically gifted mates to get down to 5 handicap. So don't mock.

Watch the club hit the ball - only tip in golf that works. Especially useful for chipping and putting, the latter can be paraphrased into "listen to the ball drop in the hole."

my game improved when I discovered this a few yr ago , so simple, yet so true

To stop being "a pussy" with chips and putts.
Attack chip shots was best ive gotten this year ,, short game has been rubbish , good chipping higher handicapper told me how to improve ..

Im in love with the short game. Spent all summer trying to shoot level for 18 round my local par 3. Had many +2, two +1 but no better.

I had 8 lessons this year too :) despite no club membership since July 2014 and only playing a handful of full rounds. Sure made the most of them rounds thought!

If you every meet me you will realise how much of a short game addict I am.
