Your best tip of 2015

As a shanker the best video I saw gave the tip of putting two balls down when practising, set up on the furthest ball then hit the nearer ball. I have worked hard on this and my shanks are becoming a rare thing.

My problem was as yours - hellish mental torture - and so I'm sure you'll understand the value of the reassuring words from the Assistant - "you'll be all right..."

Keep the faith my friend, the answer is there somewhere. Seasons Greetings

I now know the answer - and I know what I was doing wrong - but that has not yet stopped me throwing in the occasional one. Difference now is that I don't panic and simply take a deep breath and remember the words 'It'll be all right if you do what I've told you to do". And it is. Previously when I did one - things had reached the point that it was my 2nd shot on the 1st - I would be racked with fear as I just knew that i'd do it again, and again, and again - and I did. But not today

Seasons Greeting and Merry Christmas - it can be sorted - believe :)

In bunkers, Keep the upper body rotating through to a finish so the belt buckle faces the hole. Mine always stopped at impact and I finished the stroke with the arms.

What is the best tip you have picked up this year that has helped your game. For me, someone who struggles to hit the ball cleanly, it was listening to Lee Westwood's master class at the British Masters - lifting your chin up a little. I have hardly hit the ball fat since hearing that... now just got to hit it straight!

Do you have a link to this? Or can you elaborate?

Just because you have a toe weighted putter and have an arcing putter stroke you should not play for the arc.

The weighted toe should correct you to straight back and straight through, try to do that no matter what your putter and stroke shape.

Instantly holed more putts, took 2-4 shots off my round at the par 3 course in one tip.

You seem to have an extensive knowledge of the game for an inactive 12 handicapper:D
