XBOX 360 or PS3?

have you tried Kinect with Xbox?? Blows the wii out of the water!! the wii is dead..

we have both and two children, Wii is far better for very young children, Xbox far better for older children and adults.

Excellent posts and advice fellas from everyone.

We've had the wii for 2 years now and no issues but a tad dated now but Lego pirates is played most days, the Xbox and its konnect function looks to have the edge for 5+ kids and hopefully a decent racing game or FPS for daddy.

Lol, just remembered I actually bought a PS3 over a year ago and was very disappointed in the speed, graphics, playability and user friendliness of it, must have blocked it out my mind. XBOX 360 it is then, just need to find the 'right' package.

Xbox vote here. Kinect and a great range of games for kids and family to play. The Kinect will keep the little one active while playing as well without the risk of firing a controller at the TV like there is with Wii or PS3.

Then you also get a nice list of titles to choose from. I also heard the new Kinect integration on Tiger Woods 13 is rather impressive.

TBH I don't think either console is better. Both have their ups and downs. For me it would have to do with what my friends have got............Basically I like to play games online and if most of my friends have a PS3 then I can play online with them, but if they have an Xbox then I can't. So if I was in your positions I would be thinking:

1) Do I want to play online with friends??
2) If yes then what consoles / games do they have
3) If no, then it all really depends on what games you want... eg Forza (only on Xbox) or Gran Turismo (only on PS3)

Wasnt aware the new Xbox came with built in wifi, excellent.

Have had my Xbox Elite for over 5 years now without a single problem and it has been well used in that time.

Lol, no I don't unfortunately. I am a massive gamer, if I'm not on the course or playing with my two boys then I'm on my Xbox. Also helps that I used to review games and hardware for al the big publishers.

Another vote for the Xbox. I have owned both and got rid of the PS3, just not user friendly and I hate the dualshock controler. If you look at comparitive reviews of Xbox and PS3 versions of games then then Xbox normally comes out better and is normally the lead version (the game is created on the Xbox then converted to the PS3).

As for
the right package, the limited edition Star Wars Xbox and kinect that looks like R2D2 is mighty tempting. I have a 250gb Xbobx and even I am tempted to swap it for one of them

I've got both. Much prefer the Xbox for gaming. Use the ps3 purely for Blu ray playback. After seeing Swannies post above, did a search on "kinect" and have just picked up a brand new kinect controller off the bay for £74.00 delivered. Might just get Tiger Woods 2013 now to see what all the fuss is about!
