Could any of the more tech savvy on here give me some advice on;

Should I install it and what benefits would it give?
Is it easy to install and how much memory space would it take up on the hard drive?
Would it slow up any of the other programmes/operations on the PC(running a HPPavilion)
Would it make watching sports any less liable to freezing/bit-marked
If this is so good then how many on here have it?

Thanks for any advice on this(from a Luddite)

Jimbo:mmm::rolleyes::confused:

Had a mate install Kodi, haven't used it for sports yet but movies are great on it, no freezing yet, but don't know if that depends on internet provider, I'm on BT Infinity and had no issues

I have it on my pc through Virgin and on an Android tv box. It's the quality of the stream that determines what sort of picture you get. Some of the Sky streams are rubbish, but I can watch Gof channel from usa in High def perfectly. I have Ultimate xbmc on my pc, everything you need and installation info here: http://www.ultimatexbmc.com/

wow,thanks for that Mark.I think that even I can understand all that.
But back to the question of how much space will it take up or is it a bit like logging on to cric.tv to watch the golf/footie
(in other words doesn't take up any memory???
Sorry for being pedantic .

Jimbo

Yes, much the same as cric.tv. Nothing you are watching is stored on the pc, just streaming. The program itself (xbmc) once installed takes up around 200mb of hard drive space if I remember correctly, so not much space for any modernish pc. My pc is around 5 years old running windows 7 and it all runs perfectly.

If you are are getting it for the tv I would recommend getting an Android tv box, which can accomodate a wireless keyboard, because you'll definitely want one of those. I got mine on Amazon but it's not available now. There are hundreds of different ones on there though. This is the first one I came across http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mini-keyboa...qid=1436965179&sr=8-1&keywords=android+tv+box which looks much the same as mine. Don't just take my word for it though, look at all the reviews.

i bought a box and have it on. genesis is ideal for movies and tv box sets, vdubt25, uk turk, phoenix and then sports devil are what i use for sports. living away from the uk they are great and you can stream most stuff in hd on the apps mentioned
