Are you of average height, tall, short?
If you are fairly average I would suggest getting a set of fair second hand clubs or a reasonable boxed set for now, if you are tall or short you may need to try to find a set with shorter or longer shafts. When you've had some lessons and had time to groove a reasonable golf swing you could consider getting clubs fitted for you. Something like a reasonable boxed set should be fine for starters. Take a look at MacGreggor or Wilson or similar boxed sets.
