Worst golf shot you ever hit

The other day at my club,on the tee of a par 4,driver in hand nearly miss the ball, catch the outside edge and the ball ends up in the middle of my stance between my legs, cue everyone peeing themselves....

I've hit some horrors over the years but I think the most embarrassing was off the 1st on the Old Course.
I was shitting myself. Never been so nervous in my life and managed to put it in the Valley of Sin off the tee.

My geography's not that great but isn't the Valley of Sin 90 degrees straight left from the 1st tee?

So that'll be 270 degrees then!

No I was measuring the internal angle. A Right Angle is a right angle whichever way it's pointing...

Par 4 first in our qf bball this season.

Was trying to hit driver just over the corner of the trees on the dog leg right, not sure how, but it came off the face straight right and went between the 16/17th which are to the right of the first tee! Big red face! :( lol

So many to choose from...

1st tee at Beaconsfield in 1987 when I worked in corporate banking for a large (currently non-government owned) UK based international banking group. Annual client golf day, customers from FTSE 100 companies, hosted by a Board director from the bank. Me up and coming manager.

The first fairway runs parallel to the main rail line into London, on the other side of a wire fence c. 70 yards away. In front of these clients, my boss, boss's boss and anyone else watching - took driver, swung, hit full-on high slice that went as far right as it did forwards, onto the railway line just in time to bounce in front of the 10:42 train into London.

Took little comfort from my boss's consoling "don't worry about X (the Board Director), in future years, he'll remember your name, but not necessarily why."

Some great stories in here lads, keep them coming. This could be a double feature in the mag next month!

Oddly loads of shank horrors!

My most embarrasing shot, but maybe not my worst was in a charity day last year at our course. I will certainly never forget it.

We were on the 12th tee and there was a prize for the shortest drive !!. Will set the scene, the beer tent was open and the game behind had just come off the 11th green and sat down to watch us tee off.

I just managed to strike the ball with the toe of the club and it shot into the trees beside the tee and dropped out a few yards away at yellow box. The junior helping out was dispatched 150 yards down the fairway to retrieve the marker. By this time my team are rolling about the tee absolutely pi**ing themselves.

I comfortably won the prize of a bottle of whisky, golf glove and towel.
Everyone had heard about my efforts by the time we came off the 18th. :o :o :o
