Hi all,

At the risk of incurring wrath and jealous spite, I have to share this with you!

Woburn are having a pairs open in late October on the Marquess, but by the time I heard about it, they were full. Unsurprising as it's £100 for the pair, plus food and prizes - bargain!

Anyway, thought I'd ask if there was a reserve list, and they said there was and I was put on it.

Thought no more about it, and was about to cancel the leave with work when I got a phone call. Dropout - was I still interested?

£50 each for a round on the Marquess? Am I still interested? You bet your sweet a*** I am! GET IN!

So, any tips from those who've played it, please?

Not played it although it was on a list of to do's with HTL as a pairing before he jacked it in. I hope you have a decent time and you can't go far wrong at that price anyway. Good job it wasn't today though with the weather!

Sounds amazing, always wanted to play Woburn. No advice other than enjoy and i hope the weather is good for you :)

My tip to you would be find someone else to hit the ball for you and carry their bag :D

Yep, couldn't agree more! :D :D

not the Marquess, played the Duke's in the four-ball comp in August (company paid). our other team swapped with another team to play the Marquess - it's tighter than the Duke's and if you have the shotgun start that we all had, starting from anything near the 14th? you'll need to drive round and use the other car park so plan for that.

well organised, strokesaver for each team, top class full English, free balls on the range, towels in the changing room and a good lunch to follow.

... and if you play badly don't do all that sulking stuff again that you did when Pieman and myself were playing like Gods!

;) ;) ;) LMAO!

I was going to ask JustOne to caddy for me, as that's all he's good for these days, and I doubt they'd let you near Woburn, Pieman! ;)

Only sulking I remember was you not being able to hit your custom fit Ping properly, mate!
:) ;) :p
On a more serious note, thanks to the rest for the well wishes.

If you need a caddy and I'm available and you are allowed to take one - call the 'A Team'! :)

I'd be happy to caddy for you mate.

After all the unprovoked abuse he gave us James? You're a better man than I!! You're right Bratty - I'm only allowed on the safari park site when I go to Woburn!!

Unprovoked abuse??? I seem to remember it differently, my big-hitting friend! ;)

James - you are a gentleman and a legend. If I ever need a caddy, you'll be my first port of call! :)

I don't mean to brag but I am playing in the Junior Open at Woburn on the Marquess too! But I am paying only £38!!!!
