Wish me luck!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes folks but won't be needing to check my visa expiry date! :(

Started well with a great drive which left me 189 yards into the opening par 5. An 8 iron got me onto the green (wind behind and downhill), but 3 putted it for a disappointing par.

That was about as good as it got and I pretty much played myself out of it with a 7 at the 4th after putting it into the green side pond. It was sitting temptingly on the edge on a bed of shingle and the water didn't quite come over the top of my shoes, so had a go at it, ........then another go... :o

The ball eventually came out and I also managed to pebbledash my playing partners

My main problem was poor course management, (too many drivers off the tee when hybrid or long iron would have been better), and too many missed greens due to indecision over how far my new irons would carry......oh yes, I was Pish as well!! it didn't help that the round was painfully slow and we waited on every single shot.........I don't do waiting around very well

My nett 74 was never going to be good enough and 2 x 69's and a 70 took the 3 qualifying spots.

Thought I was going to win nearest the pin when my ball landed next to the flag, but then I watched in dismay as it sucked back to the front of the green about 40 feet away, (damn those MPT-11's are good!! :D)

Hopefully will get invited back next year when
a) I'll have sussed out how far my irons go, and
b) I'll engage brain and use that mysterious technique that is "course management"

Had a crap drive back on the M4 & M25 in the rain

Medal tomorrow up at the club so onwards and upwards.... :D :D
