Wind without any influence on the ball

Played today a round in 7-8 m/s wind. 1st hole, second shot, directly against the wind. Did my math and picked the club. It was supposed to land on the very front of the green and roll towards the pin, which was about 10 yards from front. Then executed the shot, it was perfect, except that the wind did not affect the ball flight at all and the ball went 10 yards past the pin and bounced to the back and rolled over the green. Felt so cheated
