Why the usa keep losing the ryder cup

yes you are correct if you ignore 1971, 1973, 1975, 1977

What possible relevance is that?

For 35 years now it has been a contest between USA & Europe. What was achieved by the likes of Palmer, Nicklaus, Trevino, Floyd, Wadkins etc; has zero bearing upon the capabilities or merits of their current team, eight of whom were not even born when the contest was last between USA & GB&I.

It is, in my opinion, a myth that there is greater strength in depth on the PGA Tour. Granted the World Rankings might, at times, seem to suggest that but they are, in the eyes of many, flawed with a self-perpetuating bias built in due to the original weightings.

I remember the US teams of the '70s and they were infinitely superior to their opponents.

That has ceased to be the case since the late '80s and the teams are now, player for player, very evenly matched.

I heard somewhere and not just at this Ryder Cup, you go into the European breakfast room and everyone mixes round big tables for breakfast together, step into the American breakfast room and the tables are individually set.
Seems like the Europeans like and embrace the novelty of being in a team environment, whereas the Americans look uncomfortable by comparison.

Have you been to the USA? Americans are a very gregarious people, they are more relaxed in each others company than the average Brit or Euro come to that. I find many of the comments relating to them unbelievable to be honest!
