We all know that the Scots only play medals!![]()
Usually, but I played a stableford on Tuesday. 39 points..... is that good?![]()
Not sure if I'm missing the point but isn't the whole idea of a medal to hole out and record a score. We've all had cricket score holes in these events but surely the bigger issue here is why you didn't just call the group behind through as this was unfolding and kept play moving. I wouldn't have NR'd the hole (hate NR'ing at the best of times let alone at the start of a round).
Delc can I recommend some soft golf balls for you are your chums when when the greens actually become proper baked.
M
We could hardly call the following group through, as he never actually lost his ball. If he had, we probably would have done so!![]()
I got cut despite an 8 on a par 3 last year. Strangely, if I'd managed to restrict the damage to a double bogey 5 I wouldn't have got cut....
You don't have to have lost a ball to call a group through
If you are holding them up you can call them through regardless
I personally much prefer playing Stablefords because they are generally quicker. We did catch up with the group ahead by the 4th hole, so my FC's 13 didn't unduly delay play. He soldiered on to score 110-17=93 nett, which wasn't the worst score in the comp! :mmm:
Surely that would slow things down for all the groups behind that though?
I don't think anybody would want to NR that early in the round!![]()
This has confused me, how did that work?

Then they continue to let any group through they hold up.
