Watching Johnson week in week out and he is a very good right back - especially going forward

The problem is he is inconsistent

But his recovery speed is very good

When on form there are no better English right backs - he needs to find that form

I did take a detour via numerous ale houses to get home, there was no way i was coming straight home after the match after todays performance/result.

I dont agree with you regards Johnson, i think he's a cracking RB and although the "experts" say he can't defend i still think he's Liverpool's/Englands best right back.

Wilshere is another overrated english player, if he was french/spanish/german he wouldn't get half the praise he gets now.

I agree. He's been playing witth an injury this season and he certainly hasn't been at his best this season.

Certainly has dropped his level this season - struggled a lot. Hopefully see him back in training this week

He may get called up,but that pretty much sums up the quality of our current crop. Nothing against Henderson,but it would hardly fill you with confidence if his name was on the team sheet in a England V Argentina semi final.

Couldn't agree more. He has made one of the best defences in any league look out of their depth on his own so England's defence doesn't stand a chance unless he gets a niggle just before the world cup.

When was he last on form? Going forward he is ok, defensively he has never looked particularly good to me. The fact there are no better right backs says more about the lack of quality we have at right back than it does about Johnson's quality at right back.

Hodgson got Fulham to a European final and Switzerland to fourth in the world. Didn't work with you guys, but hes not blag he'd a thing.

If you're referring to Blackburn I'd suggest you look at the circumstances. Firstly, they had finished 13th and 16th I believe the two years before he took over. Including being bottom for some of that time. He actually got them into Europe in first season before it fell apart. Most managers with careers as long as him have blips. He also managed inter to relative success as well as leaving both his into posts having got sides to their highest ever rankings. He's no shankly or Fergie. But he has most Definately earned his career to date.

Last season - especially second half of the season he was very good

I can't claim he plays exciting expansive footy, and obviously at Liverpool it went wrong. But, there's more than one way to et results in football. And he plays a style that has got plenty if good results. I'd settle for England boring their way through the World Cup, as a pose to going out at groups all guns blazing (Redknapp style).
