• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Who's still playing

Hadn't planned anything but the forecast is much improved so think I'll head out for a quick 9 early doors tomorrow.

Course open, but like a paddy field no doubt

Hopefully the mud won't be up to your knees Iain. Not long though before you'll be mud free.

Me and my brother in law have played every week and a hand full of times over Christmas. It has been extreme at times but we have enjoyed every game no matter how wet we got. Sadly today the course was closed so we hit the range and played target practice against one another for four hours. After a slow start I came out on top :D

Played Thursday and Friday . Course is wet in places but only 3 holes closed and only one of those is unplayable. It is the middle one of a loop of three.

Greens great except for two temps.

Will be out again on Monday.

Played last Sunday and hopefully playing tomorrow, course was shut today but should hopefully get at least the back 10 open tomorrow.

Played the full course today. Big wet underfoot in some places but generally in decent nick. Big credit to our greenkeepers, all of the drains were full to the brim, so all the work carried out to keep the Drains clear has paid off. For sure we would have been closed last year.

Somehow my brother and nephew got 9 holes in round Dunecht House (outside Aberdeen). Mind you as he's an ex-member of Murcar no weather conditions are too tough for him to play.

Played a Texas scramble this morning.

Course fully open, a bit wet in three or four places.

Heard the weather this morning and they said it should be a bit dryer next week.

Just checked our web=site and we are closed - very unusual as we are built on the Wealden Greensand Belt (there's a clue in that as to the nature of the soil)

Played the full course today very wet on certain parts of the fairway but I very rarely hit one so it didnt bother me that much. The putter was on absolute fire 37 points, Irons are starting to lose the slice, driver does what it wants but some promising signs.

It was a beautiful golfing day here in Aberdeen even on the coast, Dunecht is around 8 miles inland.

There was little evidence of any wet weather and the wind was only slightly sportly.

We have missed very little weekend golf so far this winter.

Same here in Nairn, it was a lovely day yesterday and is the same again today.

I don't think I've missed a single days golf in the last year.
