Who's still playing

Played 18 today full course open, shame my game didn't turn up, 2 birdies in the last 3 holes for 33 points. Got lucky with the weather, 1 club wind and not to cold for January

Hi all, first post.

Played 18 today at The Musselburgh Club in East Lothian. Winter tees, fairway mats and temp greens, so full on winter experience.

Nevertheless played some good golf, struggled to score well on the frosty postage stamp temps though. Course was in good condition and no rain!

Going to have to get used to fairway mats up here.

Hope those who didn't get out get the chance soon.

Went out today, first time since mid December I've been able to get out. Weathers been fine all week except a bit of rain which i don't mind but of course as i could go today it decided to be frosty and the ground was solid. Practiced a wee bit but wasn't worth the effort really as the ground was that hard. Hope to try get out more in the next fee weeks but we'll see.

I played Gullane #3 today. Minus 3 and heavy frost when I left home @ 9.30, then drove through a pretty heavy snow shower in Fife so wasn't too optimistic. By the time I reached the Forth Road Bridge the temp was up to four degrees and the sky was clearing and by the time I reached Gullane it was ideal. Full course and terrific greens with a strong breeze which isn't unusual there. Well worth the effort even though I lost on the 18th!

Envious of you having a full course just down the road. It was a nice day for a winter game.

Fingers crossed there can be a few more days nice weather the coming week.

My first game or hit of a ball for 2 weeks with my course looking like being closed for a while and the local range going bust

A quick trip to the coast and 3 of us played the shorter Warren course at Littlestone - cost £10 each. There was a little frost and ice at 8am when we teed off but it was calm and not too cold. With it only being inches above sea level there was a lot of casual water but I contrived to come 3rd with 33 points which included back to back birdies. I was able to practice my new pitching style and 2 full pitches, one off the tee on a par 3 left me a 2 foot putt and similarly on my second shot on the next hole. I think the lessons are going to work!

It was great to get out when most courses in Kent would, I'm sure, be shut.

Well after what seems like 3 weeks of constant range I've decided to miss tomorrow's game and opt for a decent constructive range session, our course is open and although wet still playable,... I just can't see tomorrow's game being constructive to carry any sort of form over to next weeks planned medal.

So who's still "gaming" at the moment,...

My last full round was on Christmas Eve. Have since paddled round our very wet course a couple of times, but we were forced off by bad weather, After 14 holes the first time and 7 holes the second time. Think I'll stay indoors for a few days.

Played today a couple of temps and a few soft greens but apart from that it was sound. I was surprised at how dry our course was after dome of the recent weather we've had.

36pts in pretty tough conditions today I was happy.

Hardly just down the road for me. Unfortunately I had to drive 80 miles to get to Gullane, but at this time of the year a group of my friends from the Edinburgh area and myself, play links golf at the weekends, normally starting at Carnoustie just after the Dunhill (Which is nearer for me) and then working our way down through Fife and into East Lothian, usually finishing at Dunbar. Some great bargains to be had.

After initially being informed our course was closed yesterday, it opened for 13 holes, had already cancelled my game so popped out for 9 holes on my own, the course was very quiet, wet but very playable, I whizzed round 9 holes in 1 1/4 hours, dropped a shot on the first then 8 pars, silly old game especially as I only took 7 clubs out with me.

Going to ring the club soon and if we're open I'm playing...
Over 2 weeks without swinging is like a lifetime for me....
Could, in theory, play every day this week...!!!

Filton is open and in good nick. One temp due to ongoing bunker work at the first but all other greens are open and rolling very nicely.
A few tee mats in play, which winds one of my playing partners up no end, doesn't bother me too much except when you can't get a sodding tee in them!

I played today, it was windy and it rained on and off, but wasn't too bad, we did have one hole closed, there was hardly anyone else on the course and I got round n 2 and a quarter hours.

Managed to get 9 in. Only the front 9 open and as I finished the 9th the biggest blackest cloud I've ever seen came into view.
Just had enough time to get changed and load the car and it dropped like a power shower!! Glad I wasn't out in that!.
Pretty soggy in places, a couple of puddles but overall reasonably playable..
And a 1 over par 36 shots to start the year...
