Voted Belfry 1st , would be Sunningdale, Woburn & RB then .. Just cant get my head round Links courses .. cant get my eye in on them esp off the tee.. but thats down to me not the course

I would choose links generally, but out of the courses listed I would choose Sunningdale.;) Woburn wouldn't even be close, in fact I would not bother to play there again. Awful drive to the place for me, woodland my least favourite type of course, and a soulless clubhouse. Drains poorly and I hate spending the day chipping out sideways.:(

Sunningdale is just the most beautiful place to play, two superb courses, and a proper members club where you are made to feel welcome.

Im utterly astounded that out of those examples anyone would ever choose the Belfry personally. Am fortunate to have played all 4 listed and would return in order of Sunningdale, Birkdale, Woburn then the Belfry (its also slighty tricky as 3 of those have more than 1 course so im assuming i get to pick)

Birkdale all day long for me, and not just because it's 20 minutes from my door. That course just stirs the soul in a way that the others do not (Sunningdale would be close though). Drop the wind and you can make a score, Throw in a hoolie and you're just clinging on for dear life.

Having checked the top 100 list, if those courses above Birkdale are better, and I'm not arguing that they aren't, then I can't wait to play them, because the worst day at Birkdale is still better than the best day at my Goat Track...

I voted for don't care, against the underslying principle of type of course rather than these courses....

It's a bit like 'do you prefer meat or fish?' - there are days I might crave a particular dish (and wine :)) but I don't start with a preference.

It depends on the weather for me.

I voted for Heatland as I love this type of course on a fine sunny day, but if the weather were a bit more inclement then I'd vote for Links.

Sunningdale for me purely because I don't play enough links golf and so would struggle with the nuances required although it would be my second choice, followed by Woburn and the Belfry a long way last

In the order they are, Links (especially Birkdale), Heathland (especially Sunningdale), Woodland (Woburn), Parkland (but not the Belfry).

I am with you on that. I haven't played the belfry but my mate who played a week ago said it was trampled to death.

I've played 3 of those courses a few times - the ex potato field only once!

For a special occasion, I'd pick Sunningdale first - maybe just for the view from the 10th of the Old!

For a course to play every day, I'd pick a links and Birkdale is arguably as good as it gets.

For variety, I'd pick Woburn. 3 completely different character courses, so, if you can, choose the one you want to play on the day!
