i was just wondering if any of you have different opinions on getting more distance from certain tees ?
do the brush type tee's reduce friction therefore helping to give more distance.

i am currently using castle tees.

I've seen the brush tee claims elsewhere, but from a physics point of view it doesn't make any sense. Friction equations are based on sliding surfaces under force. Seen as your driver swing / club face lifts the ball from the tee there is no sliding & no friction.......from any tee.

For totally psychological reasons it has to be a red wooden tee every time. No idea when it started or why but for me I'm always more confident hitting off one of them rather than anything else. So much so that I always check I have at least 18 in my bag at the start of any round just in case I break one on every hole.

Ha I think you might be just about ocd enough to succeed at this game.

Is this a wind up?
If it's not then it's a piece of nonsense. Use whatever you want.
If they make them and market them, then people will buy them. Castle tees, brushed tees, hinged tees, forward leaning tees, bladed tees - there's something for everyone!

Don't be sucked in by all this brush tee\friction nonsense

You forgot to mention the ones that are shaped like a naked woman. What advantage do they have?

Colin Montgomerie only uses white, as the other colours are the same as OOB and hazard markers etc so he thinks they are jinxed. Fruit loop!
